Philosophy of Education, as a discipline, deals with the nature of learning, the purpose of education, and the ideas that regulate and guide educational theories, policies, legislature, and standards. As a beginning education student, I have not been formally and thoroughly exposed to the historical philosophies that have shaped the various ideologies that teachers use today. Nevertheless, without any references to noted figures of the past and their philosophical frameworks, I have my own ideas about the role of the teacher and student in education.
My Philosophy of Education includes the following tenets:

Every child has the ability to learn.
The earlier a child is exposed to education, the more likely they are to succeed later on in their studies.
Each child has individual talents and contributions to offer and teachers should embrace and respect the child’s individual learning style.
Teachers are nurturers of the learning experience.
Teachers should engage their students in fun and creative ways to capture their attention and spark a sincere interest in learning.
A teacher must be aware of a child’s history and background in order to develop a rapport and connection with the child.
A teacher’s methodologies and techniques must be diverse and be adaptable for various learning settings.
A teacher must be open to new ideas and suggestions and be willing to collaborate with other colleagues.
A teacher must love and enjoy the profession of teaching!!!
