Professional sites: Purdue Online Writing Lab --"houses writing resources and instructional material" National Science Teacher Association -- "the largest organization in the world committed to promoting excellence and innovation in science teaching and learning for all." Illinois State Board of Education -- for ANY educator who plans to teach in the State of Illinois, this is where your state standards are found, in addition to other information
Chicago Public Schools -- "Chicago Public Schools is the third largest school district in the United States." I plan to teach within this school system. Illinois Certification Testing System -- administers Illinois state mandated tests for "candidates seeking Illinois teaching, school service personnel, and administrative certificates."
Science teacher sites: PBS Teachers -- "Teachers of children from pre-K through 12th grade turn to PBS for digital content and services that help bring classroom lessons to life."
Discovery Education -- "provides engaging digital resources to schools and homes with the goal of making educators more effective, increasing student achievement, and connecting classrooms and families to a world of learning."
Chemistry teacher sites: American Chemical Society -- "ACS is a congressionally chartered independent membership organization which represents professionals at all degree levels and in all fields of chemistry and sciences that involve chemistry."
